Flow: 400 cfs

Class: III

Description: Low water on the Virgin means a shallow, rocky river, but the runs are there. New Forest Circus was formed during the Quail Creek Dam flood, Jan. 1, 1989, when the channel moved form the left to the right side of the canyon. A good rapid before, this is now one of the most fun drops in the upper gorge. The rapid is 1/4 mi-long run with several good drops in a confined channel, with a raft-wrapping rock at the bottom. At this level, only kayaks or IKs wil make it this far. Above 550 cfs, small rafts, and above 1500 cfs, larger rafts will find it a challenge.
